Made for production companies

Every client. Every shoot. Every drive.

A production company’s footage outlives the job. The client comes back for a sequel, a cutdown or a sizzle, and somebody has to find the good stuff from two years ago. DISKO keeps every client’s shoots searchable, hands each editor an organized project, and gets cuts in front of clients with review links and portals.

Searches like these.

For example. Acme and the people in these searches are made up.

Search: the CEO talking about the launch

Every clip where she talks about it, playing from the line, once you have named her face and voice.

Search: aerial of the factory at sunrise

Drone shots of the plant at first light, from every shoot you have done for the client.

Search: text:"Acme"

Every slate, sign and lower third with the name on it, read off the frame.

Search: warehouse -forklift

Warehouse shots, minus the ones with a forklift in them.

Search: role:Interview status:take

Only the interviews, and only the takes your editor marked.

The workflow

How a job moves through DISKO.

01

One library, by client

Clients, then projects, dated by when the footage was shot, not when it was imported. Your folder tree becomes nested bins, and card folders fold into a bin named after the camera.

02

Logged overnight

Every clip described, every word transcribed, every sign read and every face found, on your machine, while you sleep.

03

Triage fast

Review Mode puts every clip on a big stage with the next one queued: T for a take, 1 to 5 to rate it. Give a whole bin a role or a color label in one click.

04

Organized hand-offs

One export gives Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve bins by date and camera, selects as subclips and the synced multi-cam timeline. Pass a whole project to a freelancer as one .disko file, with or without its footage.

05

Clients see cuts, not drives

Render a cut and DISKO offers a review link. Clients leave frame-accurate notes without an account, and portals give each client a branded home for their work. With DISKO Cloud.

Straight talk

The questions people ask first.

Can several people use one library?

Yes. Put the library on a network drive and the whole team can open it, on a Mac or a PC. One person at a time is the editor and everyone else browses; when the editor quits, the next person can take over.

Do clients need an account to review a cut?

No. Review links work without an account, and reviewers never pay a seat fee.

Does DISKO upload our footage?

Nothing uploads unless you send it. The library, its transcripts, faces and searches stay on your machine. DISKO Cloud only gets the cuts and projects you choose to sync.

Can we hand a project to a freelance editor?

Yes. Export it as one .disko file, with or without its footage. It opens on their machine with every tag, face, transcript and select in place.

Part of DISKO

Start with last year’s biggest client.

Add the drives from one job tonight. Tomorrow, find the shot they’re asking for by typing what you remember. Nothing uploads unless you send it.
